Provably Fair
We are committed to ensuring that every jackpot round at memeroll is verifiably random and free from manipulation. Although we are still refining our algorithm (and thus not disclosing it publicly yet), here is an overview of how we pick our winners.
Our Process
Deposits & Equity Allocation
When players deposit memecoins into a jackpot pool, we determine each player’s equity share based on how much they contribute relative to the total pot.
We then assign a number of “tickets” to each player that correlates directly to their share of the pot.
Round Completion & Ticket Generation
Once the round timer hits zero, we finalize the total number of tickets.
Each ticket is tied to a specific equity percentage from our participants.
Random Number Generation
We generate a provably fair random number using our proprietary system.
We then map this random number to one of the existing tickets in the pool.
Winning Ticket Reveal
We reveal which ticket ID won, as well as a cryptographic proof (still under development) that the process was fair.
The owner of that ticket wins the entire pot after fees.
Why We Call It Provably Fair
Verifiable Randomness: While we are currently keeping our random number generation methods under wraps, our plan is to provide a way for anyone to audit that the outcome was generated without bias.
Equity-Based Tickets: By allocating tickets proportionally to each player’s stake, we ensure that everyone’s odds of winning match the size of their contribution.
Tamper-Proof Execution: Once the random number is generated, we cannot (nor can any player) change the result or reassign tickets.
Note: You can verify a rounds odd by clicking on the fairness tab at memeroll.io and typing the desired round-id you want to see how the winner was decided.
